Sleepy Joe

We hoped by naming this sweet boy Sleepy Joe it might get him the attention he deserves quickly!  The animal shelter had given him a different name, but when we picked him up and let him ride tethered behind the driver's seat, he fell asleep with his head on her shoulder.  He rides well in the car, gets along beautifully with his female kennelmate, greets other dogs nicely, and seems to want to bond with that special someone who gives him the affection he craves.  Sleepy Joe is also quite a beautiful dog; he's about 2 1/2 years old and weighs a little over 60 pounds as of year-end 2025.  Another 10 pounds would bring him to an ideal weight.
