Nanook
We named this big boy Nanook, which refers to polar bears in the Inuktitut language. Among Dobermans, and dogs in general, he's huge, at about 107 pounds. We've found that he is very easygoing, allowing other dogs to approach and greet him, and he gets mildly agitated only if another dog provokes him. In his animal shelter videos were taken of Nanook playing with other dogs, but he was unhappy when kenneled, so confinement in small areas apparently is too stressful for such a giant dog! Nanook is about 2 1/2 years old as of mid-October, 2025, and he has the typical challenges that white Dobermans have with bright light (causing them to squint) and susceptibility to skin cancers. The latter should be monitored twice annually after the dog reaches middle age. His ears were unfortunately cut off in an attempt to crop them at some point in his life. ) :
