Morena

Morena touched our hearts when her animal shelter sent us a picture of this small cutie who needed time to recover from a fractured pelvis.  Most of the time pelvic fractures can heal properly with 4-6 weeks of cage rest, so we opted to do that for her.  Morena looks very much like a melanistic (solid color) Doberman, but she's quite small at about 40 pounds and is likely a little mixed.  She was very happy to be released from cage rest to join a few other youngsters, but she handled the strict confinement and recovery very well .  She's about 2 years old.
