Buttercup

Buttercup has had a difficult start to her young life.  She was adopted as a young puppy but not properly socialized, so ultimately she nipped people out of fear.  Her owner dumped her at an animal shelter.  We picked her up and briefly fostered her with one of our volunteers, where she played with the two other adult dogs in the home, and ultimately we placed her in a permanent (we thought) home, only to have her returned several months later due to changes that the couple's homeowner's association decided to make.  This resulted in them not being able to provide a safe and secure environment for Buttercup.  We think she will do best in a home with a confident adult dog of either sex, and she loves to play!  She's housebroken, command trained, and not destructive.  Buttercup is only 16 months old (as of January, 2026), and she's in the 55-pound range.
