Axel

    This is a personal plea for a favorite Dobie who has been with us for 15 months!  There is a sadness about him that tells us he has been let down by a human, and it has affected him deeply.  He always approaches his kennel gate with a hopeful expression and then retreats with more of a defeated demeanor, as though he has given up.  Axel has been tolerant of female Dobies that have bullied him a bit and even been mean to him, and when he is petted by a human he stands very still as though assessing whether he needs to have his guard up.  I am sending this special plea for a caring person that will give him patient, soft attention to help this big boy feel that someone wants and cares about him again.  He's 4-5 years old and weighs about 75 pounds.
