Rossi

came to us in early 2024 with a broken (nearly severed) toe, a broken pelvis, dislocated hip, wounds all over his face, emaciated and fighting an upper respiratory infection. He had quite the uphill battle! He had all of the surgeries he needed but he wasn’t using his injured leg as quickly as he should have after surgery so we did some physical therapy, slow walks and he finally started using it. Since then he has made a full recovery, though the muscle in that leg won’t ever be quite as strong as the other. Rossi is the happiest love bug and gets excited for any affection he can get! He is crate trained and not difficult to manage on leash. He did have dog-to-dog resource guarding with food when he came in but considering his condition and the wounds on his face, we weren’t surprised. It has improved massively and he can now eat peacefully with a female Dobie he lives with (even sharing his food with her) but we don’t quite trust him with other male dogs so he would do best in a home with just females. He also has shown he will chase a cat so we think he would do best without kitties in the home. He is now about 6 years old.
