Dapper has been very lucky to be rescued during the worst stormy weather of 2025, when adoptions suffer badly. His animal shelter behavioral notes made him sound so sweet, shy and vulnerable that we simply couldn't turn our backs on him. Dapper has been very dog-social, perhaps even requiring another dog for confidence. We have discovered that Dapper can climb chain link or welded wire fencing, but seemingly escaping only to find people. Once he found someone he knew he was glued to their side and seeking affection. He will need a solid wall fence or a safe place indoors to spend time when left alone. He may even be a great candidate for apartment or condo living. He's beautiful, small at about 55 pounds, and we estimate his age at 2 1/2 years as of year end, 2025. (Photos were taken the day he came in and he’s clearly underweight but he eats extremely well so we’re working on rectifying that.)
